A friend decided to take the next step and run his first full ultramarathon 50k, so four of us teamed up to also do the 100k relay to be there to support and have some trail run fun! The Sycamore Canyon location was fantastic, located about 45 minutes inland from San Diego, rolling hills with a diverse ecosystem. Parking was only along the dirt road coming in, which makes the normal parking lot a space dedicated to staging, tents, and gave it a community festival-like feel.
The course was a great mix of single track weaving through the valleys and rolling canyons with comfortable gravel fire roads. Without a car in sight the entire course, you were immersed in the nature, trails, and community of trail running enthusiasts.
Wonderful course, organized with the spirit of community, it was a great overall race.
